The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. Thoughts : Infinite Country follows two characters - young Talia, who at the beginning of this book, escapes a girl’s reform school in North Colombia so that she can make her previously booked flight to the US. Before she can do that, she needs to travel many miles to reach her father and get her ticket to the rest of her family. The Sunday Salon -- Jan 31, 2010

The Sunday Salon.com

Our first month of 2010 is already history!

It's been two days since I blogged, and as always, my weekends turn out more hectic than my weekdays! Probably has to do with the gazillion tasks I assign to the weekends, not meeting much of them in the end.

I've been playing with my blog layout and settings yet again, but finally had to stop that to get some other things done. I've two reviews scheduled over the next few days, plus one more to write, after I finish Say you're one of them. I hate to say this, but I've been struggling with that book. I wanted to enjoy it, but it's just not working for me. I'm not syncing well with the narration, and am finding it a bit dragging, a little too often. I'll however be finishing it tonight, and will review it this coming week.

Month-ends mean a lot of list-making, and a lot of planning for the coming month. I plan to take it a little lighter in February, to give myself more time to focus on my thesis. I have a couple of library books due in this week, Not my Daughter and Rainwater. Though I want to read both, I'm not able to decide which one to choose, in the event I don't get a chance to read the other one. I've had both books recommended to me, so there, it's not easy deciding!

Moving on to other exciting things, I wanted to mention these wonderful awards I got over the last week!

Jennifer G. @ The Introverted Award gave me the Dragon's Loyalty Award! Thanks, Jennifer!! :-) If you haven't visited her blog yet, you should!! She is a terrific reviewer and I've come across some wonderful books at her blog!

This award is for those followers who are the most loyal and give bloggers joy by commenting regularly and giving their support. Pass it on to 3 to 7 followers who are as loyal as dragons.

I'm passing this on to the following bloggers!! Though at this point, I want to extend my thanks to all you wonderful followers who have taken the time to visit my blog and read my posts, as well as comment on them! Yay!
  1. bermudaonion @ Bermudaonion's Weblog
  2. Juju @ Tales of Whimsy...
  3. Diane @ Bibliophile by the Sea
  4. MarceJ @ Tea Time with Marce
I also received the One Lovely Blog Award from MarceJ @ Tea Time with Marce and Vicki @ Reading at the Beach, both really wonderful blogs! Thank you MarceJ and Vicki for the awards!! Since I had just passed on this award a couple of weeks ago, I will not pass it on this time! But thanks all the same! Blog awards make me happy! :-)

Alright, back to cramming more work into less time! Happy reading everyone!
