The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. Thoughts : Infinite Country follows two characters - young Talia, who at the beginning of this book, escapes a girl’s reform school in North Colombia so that she can make her previously booked flight to the US. Before she can do that, she needs to travel many miles to reach her father and get her ticket to the rest of her family. Happy Valentine's Day, fellow followers!! Hope your day's filled with lots of love and shine and roses and blessings! Actually, I hope your every day is like that! :-)

I almost forgot about Valentine's Day, and was quite shocked to have it sneak up on me like this. I had quite the busiest week so far this semester, and was just glad when Friday knocked on my door. I didn't get much sleep, nor did I read much. I had started The Help last Sunday, and I am only at page 200 (at the time of typing up this post). To give myself the impression that I am reading a lot, I also picked up Open Season by Linda Howard, which I am reading with a pen-pal of mine from a Goodreads group. Sad to say, that book's not really my type. The protagonist is spending 100 pages of the book, trying to make herself presentable to men so that she can get a boyfriend and then get married. Seriously, a waste of paper. I sure hope she finds a boyfriend soon, and I know she will, but I don't want a complete list of every cosmetic she bought and exactly how she applied each item.

We had lots of snow last week! There was a snowstorm prediction for Tuesday and Wednesday, which turned out to be quite a joke. Although on Wednesday, we did get a whiff of the bad windy blizzard that was battering states north to us, and although we were all flying, not walking, with the wind, the university still ran as usual. I was hoping for a holiday. I would have thought that with the wind beating me from all directions that I am not able to stand steady at all, it would be considered reason enough to advise everyone to stay at home. I guess they figured that with the wind, we might actually travel faster to the campus and be at classes on time. Fancy that!

I have four books due back at the library this week, of which I am yet to open two of them. I might end up renewing at least one of them, and hope that I complete the other. I don't like returning a book to the library without reading it. I almost feel like I borrowed someone's reading time.

I plan on playing with my blog layout today. Probably will change the template and make a few changes. I hope I don't end up spending too much time on it.

Anyways, Happy reading and Happy Blogging! And Happy Valentines Day, once again!

My son said a girl asked if she could walk behind him in all that wind last Wednesday - he said it was hard to stand still in it. I think you're supposed to get more snow tomorrow.

I've stayed in during all the storms outside - mostly snow and cold! Have a good week!
At this point, what's a little more snow right?

I have the same problem as you with library books --returning them unread!

Sorry that your book isn't so hot, and that the snow is cold, but I hope you still have a Happy Valentine's Day all the same! We love books, that's for sure. ;)

I can't wait to read your review of The Help. I've been wanting to read it.

It's been the coldest winter where I live in Florida in many years, but today is just a little chilly and a lot sunny.

*I miss snow*
Have fun playing with your blog layout!
