The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. Thoughts : Infinite Country follows two characters - young Talia, who at the beginning of this book, escapes a girl’s reform school in North Colombia so that she can make her previously booked flight to the US. Before she can do that, she needs to travel many miles to reach her father and get her ticket to the rest of her family. Boy, what a hectic week that was! I finished four books, and did a hell lotta work as well! I guess I'm one of those who function best when the day's busy. I went on only about 5-6 hours of sleep each day, and by Friday evening, I could hardly keep my eyes open. At least, only 3 more weeks of these nightmares and sleepless nights, and then I'll be done with grad school! Woo hoo!
So, another week - come and gone, and with each day, my defense is coming closer. Butterflies are beginning to invade my tummy! I will be blogging less often over the next 3 weeks. I do have quite a few reviews written, plus I'll keep you posted on what's happening in my dreary life on Sundays. But I will not be worrying about blogging, while I get my thesis in shape. I will also be swinging by your blogs far less often. I still haven't caught up with last week's posts. Please don't think I'm being rude, I've hardly taken any free time last week, other than for reading. But I'll definitely come by whenever I need a break. I will make sure to at least read your posts, even if I don't seem to be commenting as often. I'll be back in shape soon as I am done with my defense, and then I would love to spend those 2 weeks before I start work just reading and catching up with your posts.
I do have to choose the winner of my Birthday giveaway, and I'll be announcing that later today. Stay tuned!
By the way, is it just me, or is this summer really unbearably hot? I can hardly get through 5 minutes of walking in the sun before feeling as if my skin is on fire. I'm risking tanning just to feel comfortable, it sure feels horribly scorching!
Happy reading and happy blogging!

And I think everywhere in the country is unbearably hot these days except Santa Barbara. We are having foggy mornings and afternoons in the low 70s.
