The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. mailboxmonday This meme was originally hosted by Marcia @ The Printed Page. It went on tour beginning August '10 and is hosted this month by She Reads and Reads. It is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks & audio books do).

This week I received two books that I am excited about.

I saw My Lost Daughter by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg on a lot of blogs last week during a blog tour, and the pretty positive reviews have made me excited to read this one. This is a pretty huge book, so it will take me a while to get through it, but that's okay for books. This is supposed to be a legal thriller (and I love courtroom novels - I'm a big Perry Mason fan), which is the main reason I accepted this one for review from PR by the Book.

The other book that came in was The Sweet By and By by Todd Johnson. I have been seeing this one occasionally on a few blogs, and the cover looks really wonderful, especially the color combination. I won this one at Joanne's Jo-Jo Loves to read during the BBAW giveaways.

Have you read any of these books?
