Refreshed from a road trip | Weekly Snapshot

I'm getting an extremely late start to this post. After the long drive yesterday back home and then a late evening meetup with our neighbors, I was out of juice very fast and needed to crash. And what does Sunday morning mean after a busy week? Tis a day full of chores. Ugh.  Life We spent this past week in Boston with my brother-in-law and his wife. We all got the break we needed - we did some shopping, watched lots of TV, and enjoyed lots of family time. I started writing this post on our drive back but didn't get to schedule in advance. We opted to drive the 13-hour route so although it made for some very long days, it felt good to get out of the house and enjoy a road trip. The weather cooperated all the days in all the places we were in those days so that was a plus.  As always after a long vacation, we have come back to a lot to do. I have so much to catch up with and need to do some of that today as there's just as much to do on the work front from tomorrow.  Renovat

The Sunday Salon: Spring cleaning and Spring decor

The Sunday
Salon.com

Good morning, Saloners! Not too early in the morning now, but I'm just sitting with my tall cup of tea and breakfast to start my day. The husband left early this morning to attend a training in Dallas, and he won't be back until next week Sunday. Both the dog and I are missing him already - the dog probably more because she doesn't know why her pack member left her, lol.

I've sort of tasked myself to do some Spring cleaning and Spring decor this week. We finally bought bookshelves and a new desk for myself for our office room. It's been sidelined for a long time and finally I managed to get some great deals this week. I'm now penning down ideas to decorate this room and the master bedroom so I expect more shopping on the cards this week.

It has been a very busy at work this week that I had to put in some overtime to get things completed. We are fast approaching our big date for releasing the product we've been working on for three years now. It's a very exciting time for us and that's partly the reason why I have been overclocking this week. So not a big deal, but I definitely hope to stick to my salaried hours this week. Moreover, we are expecting some wet and icy weather tonight and tomorrow morning, This coming after a brief spell of what summer could be like is a little torturing. People were actually outside in shorts and tanks yesterday and the icecream parlors were seeing a lot of customers. Now tomorrow, they're going to be back in gray jackets.

Rest of the day today, I'm hoping to browse around Pinterest and Etsy, and when I'm bored, read the very delightful Frangipani by CĂ©lestine Hitiura Vaite, set in Tahiti. I've also been knitting a lacy shawl for Spring that's going slow, so I may spend some more time on it.

I hope you enjoy your time alone and have a good time decorating. I really want a new desk and bookshelves, but I'm waiting until the next time we move to make that investment... just settling with what I have for now.

I need a new bookshelf for an area in my living room. There isn't one there currently but I was thinking of a low, long one for behind the soft.

The weather here was glorious this past weekend but my twelve hours at the track meet, sitting and working in full sun was too much for me! I am still recovering but I didn't get burned which is odd because I always do.

Good luck with your cleaning/decorating, spring time always makes me want to do that too!
Looking forward to your thoughts on Frangipani, I've wanted to read it for a while.

Interesting to see that you were reading "Frangipani" since I just finished "The Frangipani Hotel." Never even heard that word before and suddenly there are two books out with it in the title.
