Infinite Country by Patricia Engel | Thoughts

The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. Thoughts : Infinite Country follows two characters - young Talia, who at the beginning of this book, escapes a girl’s reform school in North Colombia so that she can make her previously booked flight to the US. Before she can do that, she needs to travel many miles to reach her father and get her ticket to the rest of her family. As we follow Talia’s treacherous journey south, we learn about how she ended up in the reform school in the first place and why half her family resides in the US. Month in Review - February 2010

February has probably been one of my worst months, reading-wise. I've never come below 6 books yet, and though I did manage 6 books this time, it was a just-managed scenario. Looking back, I'm not really sure why I didn't get much reading done. I am just glad I will graduate soon (I really can't wait to be done!) Here's my list from February:
  1. Rainwater by Sandra Brown (4 cocktails)
  2. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare (3 cocktails)
  3. The Help by Kathryn Stockett (5 cocktails)
  4. The 13th Hour by Richard Doetsch (4 cocktails)
  5. Open Season by Linda Howard (2 cocktails)
  6. The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien (Reread - 5 cocktails)
Short Reviews
  1. Blue Heaven by C.J. Box (4 cocktails)
  2. Creepers by David Morrell (4 cocktails)

And I just love your ratings chart - I've never seen that before!

I don't always think it's how many books you read but the quality of them that counts! In terms of quality your month looks pretty good!

Looks like your coming along good on your challenges.

February has been a really bad month for me too, I've just been really stressed and I have so much homework (that darn math teacher of mine). Hopefully your march reading, and mine, will be better!
Don't kick yourself over how many books you read! It's the fun of the experience. I still need to read The Help!

I think February kicked everybody's butts for some reason.

Diane, The Help was the highlight of my Feb reading too!

Amelia, thanks! :)

Julie, ditto on that! I'm changing my beliefs. :)

Morgan, I guess a lot of us had a bad February!

Helen, would love to know how you find The Help!

Kristen, I agree. Wonder if it has something to do with just being 28 days! :-/
