The previous month, on its own soil, an American man went to his job at a plant and gunned down fourteen coworkers, and last spring alone there were four different school shootings. A nation at war with itself, yet people still spoke of it as some kind of paradise.. This is a weekly event initially hosted by J. Kaye at J. Kaye's Book Blog, now by Sheila @ One Persons Journey through a world of Books, to celebrate what you are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week.
Books completed last week
Both books weren't on my list for last week, so I guess my decision to be impulsive is paying off!
- City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
- Fireworks over Toccoa by Jeffrey Stepakoff
I am currently reading
Liar by Justine Larbalestier:
4 more discs left, but it has gotten really really interesting. I'm pretty curious to know how this is going to end!
White Oleander by Janet Fitch:
This was on my list last week as well, but I had to set it aside to read a couple of books that came in for review.
Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel:
I'm reading this one for the Spotlight Series, and had planned to read this one last week, but am yet to open it.
The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs:
I'm not sure if I'll read this one, but hopefully, I will. I renewed it for the 2nd time, and if I don't read it by then, I'm giving up for now.

PS - I'm ordering your prize book from Amazon right now, so it should be to your house within the week!
Mine is at The Introverted Reader
Hmmm, I think I will! Then we can compare notes :)
Have a great week.
Lynne's Book Reviews
Here is what I'm reading.
Have a wonderful week!
Dana, I'll be *hopefully* finishing both by this weekend!
Helen, I have to get to Knitting club, asap!
Michelle, I hope I will read White Oleander asap! For some reason, I keep putting it away. And thanks for the book again! Yay! I'll keep an extra eye on the post! :)
Jan von Harz, you have a great week too!
Jennifer G., I hope you will read Fireworks over Toccoa! I loved it!
Lynne, Yes please!! I'd love to discuss with you, Apparently, it's discussion material too!
Christina, I liked City of Glass much better than the previous two books! I'm glad it all tied back well in the end! Fireworks over Toccoa was awesome! I LOVED it!
Sheila, umm, unless you are an audio buff, I wouldn't recommend it. The narrator is so shrilly, it's jangling my nerves!
Have a great reading week!
I need to put The Friday Night Knitting Club on my list of vacation reads - in the event that I actually do take a vacation in the near future.
Happy reading!
I enjoy learning about what you read.
NatalieSap, Liar is actually pretty interesting and I think the reading experience will be better than the listening experience for that book! You should try it sometime!
susan, thanks a lot! :)
