The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa | Thoughts

Rating: 5/5Why I read it: I’ve had The Housekeeper and the Professor in my TBR for a long time so when I found another book by the same author available to borrow at Overdrive, I decided to go for it.One line review: This book about forgetting and disappearance will make you wonder how much you take for granted about the little things. Who should read it: If you don't mind a little dystopian fiction in your already dystopian life and if you are okay with open endings, you may enjoy this book. The Sunday Salon (A new car) -- September 12, 2010

The Sunday
Salon.com

As the title says, I just got my new car! *drumroll please* It's a white 2007 Honda Accord, and I'm just relishing driving the huge sedan! I don't have any pictures yet, so I'll let you google if you wish. ;-)

So, my last week was spent almost entirely on finishing the car business - you know, the loans and the paperwork, and the insurance, etc. And after getting the car - inspection, registration, etc. And the malls for a fun ride. LOL! You can see I am excited, because this is my first car, so it feels great!

I had a hectic week basically. Today's my only weekend - but hopefully this means my very busy days are over.

As I said last week, I'm doing the Game On! Diet, which isn't going too well for me, because I've always thought my diet was healthy - and I even lost weight with that. But now, I'm expected to tighten it further? I somehow don't see myself succeeding in that, but like I said, I'll use this as an opportunity to get to know my meals even more intimately. Other than that, the game is going decent - not excellent, because I get lazy every once in a while.

Off to read some book now - Happy reading and happy blogging!

A new car! That is so exciting! I love the idea of a new car even though mine is doing just fine :-)

Don't get down on yourself about the Game On Diet. Life shouldn't be about "should-ing" ourselves

Thanks everyone!

Helen, that's something I strongly believe in. No more SHOULDs! Just respect the body but love life too.
